Tee Ball Time

Over the past 2 years we debated over whether or not hunter was ready for sports. He has taken an interest in golf. We thought we would give Tee Ball a shot also. Tonight was he first night of practice. The kids are all around Hunter's age and about the same skill level, which is not very much skill. Jackson is on his team. we enjoyed a few laughs with the Burke family tonight. I am looking forward to Tuesday nights of enjoying tee ball.
Hunter running around the bases.
Mackenzie was happy to join in.  She does have quite the arm.

Ready For The Weekend

The last few weeks have been so busy. I lost track of blogging. Not much important has happened, just the normal routine of work, exercise, play, and sleep. Friday night the kids decided to climb into a dry tub and play. They were entertained for 30 minutes or so. It was a nice little break. Mackenzie does have several teeth coming in, including 4 molars. She has been fussy and a little more dependent on the pacifier. We are going to break her from it soon, but I just don't have the heart to do it just yet. I caught a picture of her watching Baby Einstein in her sunglasses. She is so full of character. I am counting down till summer so that I can soak both of them up as much as possible.

Happy Easter

This morning began with Hunter going on a little scavenger hunt. The Easter bunny had wrapped yarn around his door handle and throughout the house. Hunter had to follow the yarn trail in order to find his basket of goodies. Mackenzie's basket wasn't much of a hunt, but she did have a fun time following her yarn to her her basket. Hunter's basket had a few new games and some new PJs. Mackenzie's basket had a new potty seat, a few bottles for her baby, and new PJs.
After church, we took a quick trip to the park. Then got a bite to eat before jumping into the Deardorff's pool. Mackenzie is slowly discovering what it means to "go potty". Today after jumping into the pool she would get out and look down, say, "Uh-oh, potty," and then lean down to touch the puddle underneath her. We got a huge laugh out of that one. We were home by 1:30 to take naps and watch the Masters. Today was a good ending for my Spring Break. I am sad that it is coming to and end. Only 2 months until summer. I am counting down the days.

Modeling new suit

Just had to capture a pic of little lady in her new suit. This week I realized we were going to have to purchase a new suit when I continually was having to pull it up. I was lucky to find 2 suits on clearance at the outlets yesterday. She is getting her other one in her Easter basket.
Update on her accomplishments:
She is talking up a storm. We are currently working on shapes and colors. She follows one step directions perfectly. When around bigger kids, she runs, skips, and frolics to keep up. Walking is not something she does too much of. She now has about 8 teeth and getting at least 4 more. She loves to color and do anything brother is doing. They love being together. Whenever Hunter is upset about something, she runs over to comfort him by rubbing his head and kissing him. She can sing bits and pieces of most of the songs on the Veggie Tales CDs. The ABCs and "The Wheels on the Bus" are her favorites. I love driving around and listen to her belt out the last beat of each line. For example, she doesn't sing all of the words she will just hang on too the word "town". It sounds like a bunch of babble until it gets to "all through the OWNNNNN". Too cute!!! I love these stage!

Wonderful Wednesday

This morning we decided just to lay low and be lazy. We took early naps and and then headed to the water park. The pools were perfect and the weather was warm. The "babies" loved exploring the water in the tadpole pool. Hunter decided to be brave enough to jump from the diving board. I wasn't with him when Adam asked him if he wanted to try it out. When they joined us at the tadpole pool, I was amazed that he had tried the diving board. He wanted me to watch. Adam was in line behind him. No one was in the pool to catch him. As he was running to the end of the board, my heart was running with him. He jumped and then swam to the side and with no hesitation got right back in line. He amazes me! He is growing up too fast.
Martha and Briley are leaving tomorrow. We are sad that they are leaving but are grateful for the time we had with them.

Potty Time

Mackenzie has taken an interest in going to the potty over the past few months. I started sitting her on it before bath time due to having a few accidents during bath time. Last week she sat and had success! We haven't had success since, but she does try to pull her diaper off and run to the potty. So today, I pulled out the training troops. I am not trying to train her, but I am encouraging her exploration of the process.

Terrific Tuesday

We are loving having Aunt Martha and Briley hanging out with us. Hunter was able to practice his swimming skills out and show off to Aunt Martha. He has taken off with swimming all he needed was a little bit of confidence. Swim lessons gave him that confidence. Mackenzie is not going to have any confidence issues with water. We have to keep a close eye and hand on her around the pool. The weather and company were perfect.

Sweet treats and Easter Eats

So...having Spring Break the week before Easter, my sister in town, and tons of ideas from Pinterest I couldn't help but want to throw another "Little People Party". Call me crazy, but putting these things together thrills me. I love watching everyone come together and have fun. The activities involved the following:
Easter coloring sheets
Easter Card creations
Easter Egg dying
Hunting Easter Eggs
Playing, bouncing, climbing, laughing, and anything else that makes little kids happy.
Even though the planning and preparation can be extensive and the party only 3 hours long, I enjoy the whole process. Even the clean up is not so bad, knowing the kids had a blast.
