OREO

How many do you think I can get in my mouth at a time?
Evidence!
Hunter had his first Oreo tonight. He loved them. I have to admit that Oreos are my favorite cookie...so much that they are banned from this house. I love to drop them into a cold glass milk, let them sit there for a moment, and then eat them with a spoon. Hunter preferred to stick the whole cookie in his mouth. How do you eat your Oreos?

Glad Daddy's Home

Adam came home on Wednesday morning. He had been in TN for almost 2 weeks. It seemed like a long time. Wednesday night we sat and hung out together most of the night. We all, including Callie, were excited to have him home.

Hunter loves to help around the house. Here is a little clip of him helping with the vaccum.

Chasing Waves

Beautiful day at the beach...clear and calm water mixed with the perfect breeze.
Chasing the birds...hope they don't chase back!

This morning we made a trip to the beach. I'm always a little anxious about going by myself, but Hunter always does wonderful. Today we arrived and the tide was really low and the gulf was calm. This meant there were a lot of large areas that had pools of water and I didn't have to worry about the waves overtaking him. It was perfect! As you can see, he had fun chasing the birds and getting in the sand. He even was braver today than normal and stuck his head under a few times. Everytime he would head back over to the beach bag, get out the towel, wipe his face, then methodically put back the towel so that it is not touching the sand. It is amazing how much he mimics what I do.

Adam is still in TN. He will be returning on Wednesday. 2 weeks is a long time, but it is a small amount of time compared to when he moves to Bristol in March. Hunter is so good that I know that we will be fine reguardless.

Doing the Dishes

This morning after breakfast, I asked Hunter to put his dish in the sink. I was busy getting ready for the day when I asked him to complete this task. I went to the sink to see if he had done what I asked and the bowl wasn't there. In the past, he has confused the sink and the trash can so I checked to make sure he hadn't thrown his bowl in the trashcan. It wasn't there either. I decided that I would eventually find the bowl. I did...tonight...as I was loading the dishwasher. So smart! He bypassed the sink and went straight to the next step and loaded the dishwasher. Gotta love him!

Puzzled???

It is amazing how fast he learns where things go and how they fit. I love being apart of this!

Hiding in the Pillows

Adam has been away since Thursday. Hunter has started to miss him. One of Adam and Hunter's favorite things to do is to play in the pillows. Hunter wants all of the pillows on the bed and then to be covered by them. He gets upset if there is ANY pillows M.I.A.

This weekend has been good, but lonely. We ran errands Saturday morning and then came home and cleaned the house. Saturday night I had Agota, our nanny, come over to watch Hunter while I went out with the "girls". We had a good time and even got out our calendars to plan the next few months of "girls nights". We are NOT going to miss a month. Me moving away has lit a little fire under us and we are making a point of spending as much time together as possible.

Sunday we ended up staying at home. Hunter has been a little "under the weather" and I wanted to keep him away from any possibilities of catching a germ. Being the only parent I don't want to chance him getting sick and then me having to take too many days off. It was great staying at home all day long and lounging together.

I have a small prayer request...we are looking to sell our home. The sooner we sell our home the sooner we can move to Bristol. I'm hoping that we can all move up in March together. However, the market here is REALLY bad. Please pray for our house. Pray that a loving family comes along and decides they want to take over 4340 20th Street NE. Thank you! Hope everyone is well.

Lesson Plan and Assessment...for those Collier County Teachers out there

Random Photo...2 Additions to our yard...the Royal Palms.
Bed Time Story...reviewing Plot Development and introducing Main Idea and Details ;)
The standard we are covering is Main Idea and Details. Callie is a little confused.

Being so far away from family is not easy. I have posted our immediate family's pictures on the fridge for Hunter to enjoy. Today we had a lesson and an assessment of Hunter's progress. Well, as you can see, he passed saying the names, but not following directions. He was a little distracted by the toy below. However, I observed that he was successful with making matches and pairs. I think I'll give him an 90%. I'm totally kidding about the assessment and lesson plan. If you are a teacher in Collier County, you will find this funny. I'm crunching the data to make sure he has made gains ;)

@ The Beach

Now that we are moving, I am making a point of going to the beach at least 2 times a month. Now some of you are saying why only 2 times a month...life gets hectic and believe it or not a trip to the beach is an ordeal with a 21 month old.

Today Adam and I took Hunter. The hurricane has stirred up the Gulf and we new that today the waves would be plentiful. Well, the waves weren't the only thing plentiful. The shells where also. Hunter loves to play in the sand and water, but some of the waves were a little too much for him. We stayed a little over an hour and then Hunter started heading towards the boardwalk saying and signing "all done". So...a short trip, but always well worth it.
